Impressions
Selection of Creative Ceramics by DSSLC Artists

On the Square in Denton

If you need a gift for any occasion, take a stroll through Impressions, a gift store that’s been on the south side of the square in downtown Denton since 2011. You’ll experience a wide selection of colorful, original handmade ceramics including colorful jewelry, bowls, bright coffee mugs, and many sizes and shapes of earth-tone platters.

Impressions has enabled residents of the Denton State Supported Living Center to experience meaningful and creative work. Vocational art participants enter their work environment at the store Monday through Friday. Once inside the store, these residents/artists get to work, creating one-of-a-kind spoon rests, cell phone holders, cards, bookmarks, magnets and jewelry. DSSLC’s Program Without Walls also provides residents with a meaningful place to spend mornings at Impressions experiencing the community and their work environment.

Impressions manager Connie Lane says that the vocational program helps residents learn new craft skills and gain on-going work experience. All residents take a great deal of pride in their work. When they are on-site at the Impressions, they truly enjoy seeing a customer purchase an item they made.

This time of year, inventory reflects a wide assortment of holiday ornaments and holiday decorations. Visitors can select holiday gifts from among year-round inventory of decorative bowls and platters, wooden bird houses, jewelry, table ware, and unique animal sculptures which are all fully functional pieces.

Impressions is open Monday through Saturday featuring colorful one-of-a-kind treasures for giving or as useful and beautiful items in your home.  Come by to see for yourself and find an Impressions original.
